QueueCare Advanced Scheduling and Smart Calendar Engine Go Live
QueueCare’s scheduling system has received a major upgrade with the July 23, 2026 update.
This release brings smart interactive calendars, stronger booking rules, provider-specific availability controls, and a more powerful scheduling engine for locations that need accurate appointment availability without manual workarounds.
Smart Interactive Calendars
QueueCare now uses a premium Flatpickr calendar interface on the public booking page.
The old native date picker has been replaced with a cleaner, more dynamic calendar experience. Customers can now choose booking dates from a polished visual calendar that is easier to use on both desktop and mobile.
The calendar is also connected directly to QueueCare’s backend availability engine. Dates with 0 available slots are automatically greyed out and disabled, so customers cannot select days that are already unavailable.
Calendar Tools for Management
The same interactive calendar experience is now available inside QueueCare management screens.
Location Settings and Provider Edit forms now allow management to point, click, and select multiple dates visually instead of manually typing dates into fields.
This makes schedule setup faster, cleaner, and less error-prone.
Global Avoid Booking Rules
QueueCare now includes a new Avoid Booking control panel inside Location Settings.
Management can block weekly days off, such as every Sunday, so those days never accept bookings.
Specific calendar dates can also be blocked for holidays, vacations, maintenance closures, or special shutdown days. Once selected, those dates are removed from public booking availability.
Provider-Specific Avoid Booking Rules
The same availability controls now exist at the provider level.
A doctor, stylist, consultant, counter, or service provider can have their own days off or specific unavailable dates without affecting the rest of the location.
For example, one provider can be unavailable every Tuesday while other providers continue accepting bookings normally.
Provider-Specific Advance Booking Limits
QueueCare now allows providers to override the location’s global advance booking limit.
A location may allow bookings up to 14 days ahead, while a specific provider can use a stricter limit, such as only 1 day ahead.
This gives locations more precise control for providers who need tighter scheduling rules.
Visiting Provider Mode
QueueCare now supports an Only Available On Specific Dates mode for visiting or temporary providers.
When specific dates are selected for a visiting provider, the public calendar locks down all other dates. Customers choosing that provider will only see the exact available dates enabled, while the rest of the calendar remains greyed out.
This is especially useful for visiting doctors, temporary counters, guest consultants, rotating staff, or limited-date services.
Scheduling Engine Improvements
The QueueCare scheduling engine has been optimized to handle global and provider-specific rules together.
The system now compiles location rules, provider custom schedules, blocked weekdays, blocked dates, advance booking limits, and visiting provider dates more reliably through the core schedule resolution logic.
This helps ensure public booking availability matches the actual business rules configured behind the scenes.
UI Polish and Fixes
Several interface fixes were included with this release.
A layout issue in the Provider Edit modal was fixed, preventing the Add Provider button from rendering outside the container. Calendar inputs now have cleaner spacing with proper bottom margins, keeping the settings screens easier to read.
This update makes QueueCare much stronger for real appointment scheduling, especially for businesses managing multiple providers, rotating availability, holidays, and complex service calendars.
