Remote Background Downloader BETA

Paste a direct file URL and SmartKit will download it remotely to your account storage. If the source host expires the link or blocks server downloads, the transfer may fail, but your browser does not need to stay open after the job starts.

Built for slow, unstable, or long-running downloads

Normal browser downloads depend on your device staying connected. SmartKit moves eligible direct file links through a remote worker, stores completed files in your SmartKit account, and gives you a cleaner way to manage large transfers.

Remote background transfer

The job runs from SmartKit's server connection, so your local browser can be closed after the transfer starts.

Retry friendly

If the source server supports it, SmartKit can retry dropped transfers instead of giving up at the first network interruption.

Account storage

Completed downloads are kept in your own SmartKit space and can be downloaded, shared, or deleted from your file manager.

How it works

Use direct links from trusted file sources. Preview pages, login-protected links, and links that need a manual button click may not work.

Paste a direct URLUse links that point to the real file, such as a ZIP, MP4, PDF, or image file.
SmartKit checks itThe downloader validates the URL and warns you when the link looks like a preview page.
Server downloadsThe remote worker transfers the file while progress, speed, and ETA update in your dashboard.
Manage the fileDownload it later, copy a share link, or delete it when you no longer need it.

Remote downloader FAQ

Clear limits make the tool more reliable and easier to trust.

Is my downloaded file private? Yes. Files are stored for the logged-in account that created the job. Other users cannot see them unless you create and share a token link.
How long are completed files kept? Completed files are temporary and are automatically cleaned after their retention period, helping keep the service fast and fair.
Why does SmartKit reject some URLs? Some links are web pages, preview screens, or protected downloads. The worker needs a direct file URL to transfer the file reliably.
Can I close the browser? Yes, after the job starts. The transfer continues server-side as long as the source server keeps the file available and allows remote downloads.
