Active Devices and Smarter Password Protection Arrive for SmartKit Accounts
SmartKit account security received a major upgrade as part of the August 5, 2026 update.
Users can now see where their account is signed in, manage active sessions, and get stronger protection when passwords are changed or reset.
Active Devices in Dashboard Settings
A new Active Devices section is now available in Dashboard Settings.
This page shows the devices currently signed in to the account, including browser, operating system, IP address, approximate location, and last active time.
The current device is clearly marked, making it easier to understand which session belongs to the device being used right now.
Local Time for Device Activity
Device activity times are now shown in the user’s local time.
This makes last active information easier to understand without mentally converting server time or another timezone.
Log Out Individual Devices
Users can now sign out individual devices with one click.
If a device, browser, location, or IP address looks unfamiliar, the user can remove that session immediately without affecting the current device.
Log Out All Other Devices
SmartKit now includes a Log out all other devices action.
This signs the account out everywhere except the current device, including older sign-ins from before this update.
It gives users a fast way to clean up account access when they want a fresh security start.
Password Changes Now Protect Every Device
Changing the account password now automatically signs out all other devices.
The current device remains signed in, while every other active session is cleared. This helps prevent old sessions from staying active after a password has been updated.
Password Reset Signs Out Everywhere
Forgotten-password resets now sign out every device on the account.
This is especially important when a login may be lost, shared, or compromised. Once the password is reset, previous sessions are cleared across the account.
Security Email Alerts
SmartKit now sends security email alerts for important account activity.
Users receive an email when their account is signed in on a new device and when their password is changed.
These alerts help users notice important account events quickly and take action if something looks wrong.
With Active Devices and stronger password session protection now live, SmartKit users have clearer visibility and better control over account access across every device.
