Form Validation, Builder Layout, and CSV Export Improvements

SmartKit’s June 25, 2026 update brings important improvements to the Form Builder, focusing on cleaner validation controls, stronger backend checks, better builder usability, and more reliable exported data.

Stronger Form Validation

Creators now have more flexibility when controlling Number and Mobile fields. The “Blocked Starting Characters” setting now supports multiple blocked characters separated by commas, such as 0, +.

This makes it easier to prevent invalid phone numbers, unwanted prefixes, or incorrect numeric entries before they are submitted.

We also fixed a backend validation issue where the server was incorrectly ignoring the number 0 during validation checks. This meant some mobile numbers could bypass the “Cannot start with 0” rule. That validation now works correctly from both the frontend and backend.

Cleaner Builder Interface

The advanced validation area inside the Form Builder has been redesigned for better clarity. The Length Limits and Block Characters controls now appear in a more spacious layout, with clear labels placed above each input.

This gives creators a cleaner editing experience and makes advanced settings easier to understand at a glance.

We also fixed a layout issue that could push field action icons, such as Duplicate, Add, and Delete, out of alignment. Advanced settings now sit inside a dedicated section, keeping the action icons securely positioned at the bottom-right of each field card across different field types.

As part of the polish, unnecessary emojis have also been removed from the builder interface for a more professional look.

Better CSV Export Support

CSV exports are now more reliable for multilingual data. We fixed an issue where Arabic, Urdu, and other non-English text could appear as unreadable characters when opened in Microsoft Excel.

Exported CSV files now include proper UTF-8 support, helping Excel display native text correctly.

We also fixed an Excel formatting issue affecting quiz scores. Previously, scores like 20 / 20 or 10 / 20 could be automatically converted into calendar dates. Scores are now exported in a safer format, such as 20 out of 20, so Excel keeps them as plain text.

These improvements make Smart Forms more dependable for creators collecting structured responses, multilingual entries, and quiz results across different devices and regions.
