Introducing TypeSpeed, a Mobile-First Typing Test and Tutor

SmartKit Updates
June 29, 2026

SmartKit’s June 29, 2026 update introduces TypeSpeed, a new free browser-based typing speed test and typing tutor built for the way people actually type today.

TypeSpeed helps users measure typing speed on both phones and physical keyboards, then gives them practical tools to improve instead of only showing a score.

Mobile and Keyboard Typing Tests

Most typing tests are designed around physical keyboards first. TypeSpeed treats mobile typing as a real skill of its own.

The tool automatically detects whether a user is on a phone or computer and prepares the correct experience. Users can also manually switch between Mobile and Keyboard modes to compare both skills side by side.

Each result is clearly labeled with its device type, so a mobile WPM score and a keyboard WPM score are never mixed into one unclear number.

Flexible Test Modes

TypeSpeed supports multiple test styles so users can choose the kind of practice they need.

Users can test with Words, Sentences, or Paragraphs, depending on whether they want a quick speed check or a more natural typing flow.

Duration options include 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and 2 minutes, making the tool useful for both quick challenges and focused practice sessions.

The current live language options are English and Roman Urdu.

Live WPM and Accuracy Tracking

During every test, TypeSpeed shows live WPM, accuracy, and timer updates.

When the test ends, users can review their final speed, accuracy, raw WPM, word performance, character performance, selected mode, language, and device label.

This gives users a clearer picture of how fast they typed and how clean their typing really was.

Weak-Word Practice

TypeSpeed does more than score the test.

After a session, the tool identifies the words the user typed incorrectly and can generate a new practice round from those exact weak words.

This helps users practice what they missed instead of repeating random words they already type well.

Shareable Result Pages

Each completed test can generate a permanent public result link.

The result page includes the user’s score, accuracy, device context, mode, and language, making it easy to share typing performance with friends, classmates, job-related chats, or social platforms.

These result pages also include a clear path for new visitors to try their own typing test.

Built-In Learn to Type Tutor

TypeSpeed also includes a Learn to Type section for beginners.

The tutor uses visual keyboard guidance, highlighted next-key hints, finger-zone support, and structured lessons to help users build proper typing habits from the start.

This makes TypeSpeed useful not only for people who already type fast, but also for students, parents, beginners, and anyone who wants to learn typing step by step.

Honest and Simple Browser Experience

TypeSpeed runs directly in the browser with no sign-up required to start testing.

Paste blocking helps keep scores honest, while instant browser-based scoring gives users fast feedback without installing software.

This launch gives SmartKit a new productivity tool for students, job seekers, office workers, mobile-heavy users, beginners, and typing enthusiasts who want to measure, compare, and improve how they type.
