Smart Forms Introduces Advanced Field Validations
On June 14, 2026, we introduced advanced field validations to the Smart Forms builder, providing greater control over the information respondents can submit.
The update includes 11 validation rules, real-time input correction, intelligent defaults, and cleaner number fields across devices.
11 Strict Validation Rules
Text-based fields can now be configured with 11 distinct validation rules.
Available options include:
- Letters Only
- Numbers Only
- Email Format
- Alphanumeric
- Phone Format
- Additional rules for different input requirements
These validation options help form creators collect more consistent and accurately formatted responses.
Real-Time Input Correction
Smart Forms now monitors respondent input as it is entered.
When someone attempts to enter a character that is not permitted by the selected validation rule, the form automatically prevents it from appearing in the field. For example, letters will be rejected when a field accepts phone numbers only.
This gives respondents immediate feedback and reduces invalid submissions.
Intelligent Default Validations
The builder now automatically assigns a logical validation rule when a new field is added.
For example:
- Short Text defaults to Letters Only
- Mobile Number defaults to Numbers Only
These defaults simplify form creation while remaining configurable when a different validation rule is required.
Cleaner Number Fields
We removed the browser's default up and down spin buttons from Number fields.
Number inputs now have a cleaner and more professional appearance across desktop and mobile devices.
More Reliable Form Responses
With advanced validation rules, real-time correction, intelligent defaults, and cleaner input fields, Smart Forms can now collect more accurate and consistent information.
We will continue improving SmartKit with practical features that make creating and managing forms easier.
