TicketDesk Closed Ticket Locking and AssetTracker SIM Safety Fixes

SmartKit Updates
July 10, 2026

SmartKit’s July 10, 2026 update focuses on reliability and protection across TicketDesk and AssetTracker.

TicketDesk Submission Reliability

We fixed an issue where submitting a support ticket through the public portal could show an error message to the requester even though the ticket had already been created in the background.

The submission flow now responds more accurately, helping requesters know when their ticket has been created successfully.

Closed Tickets Are Fully Locked

Closed tickets now behave as a true final state.

Previously, reassigning a closed ticket could accidentally reopen it. That has been fixed. Replies and internal notes can no longer be added to a closed ticket either, keeping completed ticket records stable and preventing accidental changes after resolution.

Fixed Internal Ticket Links

Several internal TicketDesk links have been corrected.

Admin links and assignment notification email links were pointing to the wrong web address in some cases, causing them to fail when opened. These links now route correctly to the intended ticket pages.

Public Form Abuse Protection

TicketDesk now includes stronger protection against automated abuse.

Safeguards have been added to the public ticket submission form, the public ticket status checker, and the email verification link. This helps prevent those public pages from being flooded with excessive repeated requests.

AssetTracker SIM Assignment Safety

AssetTracker now prevents records from being deleted while SIM cards are still assigned to them.

Previously, a Site, Store, or Employee could be deleted even if SIMs were still linked to it, leaving those SIM cards pointing at a record that no longer existed. The system now protects against that broken state.

Employee Assignment History Fix

We also fixed a bug where site names were not showing correctly in an employee’s assignment history.

The issue was caused by a lookup pointing at the wrong data file, and assignment history now displays the correct site names.

This update keeps TicketDesk more reliable and protected while making AssetTracker SIM records safer and easier to trust.
